Ipswich: Town of Youth Social Action
At the heart of the Ipswich Social Mobility Alliance is an ambition to listen to children and young people and place their views and ambitions at the heart of decision making in the town. Data tells us one story, but the real story of our town can be heard through the brilliant stories of hope, service and strength our young people share.
The #iwill movement encourages organisations to make a commitment to empowering young people to make a positive difference.
All organisations working within the ISMA are invited to sign up to the #iwill Power of Youth Charter. The charter is a collaborative effort, across the UK, which aims to recognise young people for their efforts, empower more young people to make a difference, and give young people opportunities to shape their future.
The national #iwill movement has recognised Ipswich as a Town of Social Action – with Ipswich organisations and community groups well represented in the list of #iwill charter signatories.
The ISMA strategy planned for publication in Autumn 2023 will be built on consultation with young people, working through Alliance organisations signed up to the Power of Youth Charter, sharing insights and challenging assumptions.
